About VKS:
A Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) firm based in Hyderabad, providing investment banking solutions to its clients. Last year UBS sold out its majority share in the "UBS investment banking analytic outsourcing division" to verity & hence the corporate identity got changed to VKS from UBS. The firm is not that renowned but offers good learning environment with an employee strength of around 350 employees.

Job Profile:
Title: Junior Analyst,Investment Banking Dept.
Description: To provide back-end financial research solutions for various M&A clients of VKS. The candidate will be involved in financial analysis of company statements, financial modeling & preparation of pitch books.

Pros-

  • Back-end with minimum client interface.

  • High work load.
Last year they recruited 11 students out of which 1 finally joined.

Selection Process:

Commerce students with minimum of 70% aggregate & economics students with 65%+ can apply.
The selections will be made on the basis of interview (generally 2-3). They generally don't have group discussion and all.

IQ's (Interview Questions)

During the selection process generally asked questions are as follow:-
  • Take us through your CV
  • Whats is investment Banking
  • List few recent M&A
  • Basics of accountancy e.g to draw a balance sheet with some company info.
  • Various accounting ratios, generally P/E Ratio,Debt/Equity Ratio etc.
  • Whats your favorite subject, & then questions related to that.
  • Basic financial terminology & your knowledge about financial instruments
  • Your career ambition & achievements.
  • Your strength & weaknesses.
  • Why you want to join us.
  • About your post grad education plans. (say that you are NOT giving any competitive exam).
  • and, cross questions.
