Ricktales V: Rabindra Sangeet

A fine Tuesday. While coming back, I yet again ran into Babu Moshai. This time there was no "katha" but better than a katha; "gaan". We set out on the humdrum affair called 'i wanna go back home'. We both were silent. even the best of story tellers did not write all the time. Because they sang. Yes I am talking about Rabindra da.

Today there were words but special words nicely dipped in music and sprinkled with Rabindranath's patriotism. Babu moshai began.

"Jodi tor daak shune keu naa aashe
tabe ekla chalo re
ekla chalo, ekla chalo, ekla chalo, ekala chalo re
jodi keu kathaa naa kaya, ore ore o abhaagaa, keu katha naa kaya
jadi sabaai thaake mukha phiraaye sabaai kare bhayatabe paraana khule o tui mukha phute tora manera kathaa, ekala bolo re....."

Though, he was missing some words intermittently he sang the full song. At least he tried to :)
Ah ha ha ha....... Bhaalo khoob bhalo.... Ekla chaulo re.....

Move alone. Walk alone and do it alone. A tribute to my favorite actor Raj Kapoor "The show must go on". Take people along, but walk alone if need be and there should be no stopping.

There was no stopping. Today the weather was good and his mood too. And the Gaan were awesome. I came to know about another great trait of babu moshai. He had a great voice. He began again, this time in Hindi.

"Khula khula aasman,
hari hari dharti,
Jitna bhi dekho isse
aankh nahi bharti"

Yes, he is right. We all have a beautiful mother but the problem is that we have only one of her. We adore her, watch her endlessly and caress her. We all love our mothers. We miss her too when she is not around. No substitute of that great lady in our lives. Never!!.... Mom this is for you

And that is it, the mehfil was over. I reached the Q block. And thereon I had to walk alone. Walk alone.....
