From Negative to Positive:

by Campus Reporter,Rachita Gupta.

As children, each of us live with the barrage of commands from adults in our lives: stop fidgeting, pay attention, sit up straight. For some, those commands become a consistent source of pain. As we grow into an adult, we generally don’t leave these remarks behind us but instead we continue telling ourselves over and over again how inadequate we are.
Our negative thought patterns have the ability to reap havoc on our lives. Sometimes, we create our own image by what we say to ourselves each day. And so it goes throughout lives. When we continue to barrage ourselves with negative thoughts of ourselves, we tend to believe them. We view ourselves in this negative way.
Start watching your thoughts, without indentifying with them. Watch them as a detached observer. Don not gets perturbed by your thoughts. Don’t condemn or justify them. Don’t try to control them. Just watch them. After sometime, you will come to know what your negative thoughts are about. Now concentrate on all positive thoughts that you can replace these thoughts with, in order to switch over to a more positive attitude towards them. Our attempt should be cut down the quantity of unnecessary thoughts and to improve the quality of necessary ones.

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words, images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action.

Positive and negative thinking are both contagious. All of us affect one way or another, the people we meet. This happen instinctively and so on subconscious level, through thoughts and feelings transference, and through body language. People sense our aura and are affected by our thoughts. People are more disposed to help us if we are positive. They dislike and avoid anyone broadcasting negativity.

Negative thoughts, words and attitude bring up negative and unhappy words and actions. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment.

One of our easiest ways to combat negative thoughts is to recognize that it’s a thought that you don’t want there and immediately replace it with a positive thought of the same nature.

Positive thoughts equal positive results. It’s been proven time and again throughout the ages by some of the most successful people. The act changing the way you think sounds so simple, so easy to implement that once you get into the habit and realize what power positive thinking holds. Perhaps the most common reason people do not take on the task of thinking positive is that it takes an action on their part.

Negative thoughts can be reinforced with emotions and images. All this may take longer than one single replacing thought, but these are far more effective since they allow you to divide the desired target into workable units. Focus on a pleasant event that took place in the past. This way your thoughts will turn positive and your emotions and images will reinforce each other, resulting in an overall positive attitude.
